Mazatlan, dubbed as the “Pearl of the Pacific” is one of Mexico’s most interesting resorts to visit because of its variety of out-of-the-ordinary attractions—from tropical beaches, great fishing ports, outdoor water activities, to the rich cultural district of El Centro Historico located at the tip of the peninsula where arts gallery, local shops, museums, and neo-classic architecture are all located to give every visitor a taste of an old-Mexican lifestyle.

Hotels and Resorts
Resorts and hotels that offer all-inclusive accommodation to affordable economy rates are thus spread all over Mazatlan’s two city centers for tourism: the old Mazatlan and the Golden Zone. Hence, in choosing a place to stay visitors only have to think of one thing: the ultimate purpose of going to the place. If the primary purpose is to experience fishing and catching Marlin, Dorado, and Sailfish and to have great water adventure, beachfront hotels and resorts can very well serve this purpose.

Homes, Condos, Villas, and Real Estate

For both long-term and short-term group vacationers, the private rental homes, villas, and condominiums spread all over the area  do serve as good alternative to hotel rooms with limited bedroom spaces. Real estate homes are likewise offered in Mazatlan; however, many of them are located without direct view of the water. Few upscale developments in Mazatlan real estate are evident, nonetheless.

Golf
Aside from water activities, Mazatlan also attracts golfers since it has three golf courses--- two of which are Championship Courses and the other one is a 9-hole golf course.

Fishing
New and old Marinas are spread out in Mazatlan to cater to different fishing sports enthusiasts. Marina del Crestron, the old marina, is located near the Mazatlan lighthouse while the newer ones the El Cid and Marina Mazatlán are found at the northern tip of the Golden Zone.

TOURS
In many Mazatlan restaurants’ seafood cuisines are the highlight of the food they serve. But as visitors stroll all over the Golden Zone and the old Mazatlan district, the dining place’s atmosphere and the music quickly vary from Caribbean, to European, to Continental, to Spanish and to Mexican, respectively. Mazatlan’s main shopping center, La Gran Plaza, is located at the Golden zone with over 120 stores of different products and services. In the city’s downtown area are the local small shops offering handicrafts and embroideries, liquors, and other native goods.

Weather
Weather in Mazatlan is pleasant all throughout the year. July and August, however, are the rainiest months.

Map
Mazatlan is Mexico’s closest resort to the United States and it rests in the wonderful cove of the Pacific. Mazatlan Island stretches up to 10 miles of white beckoning sandy beaches.
